Adtech® P1402 is a single component primer which is used with Adtech® cyanoacrylates and enables the bonding of difficult to bond plastics. These plastics include polyolefin, polypropylene, polyethylene and silicone rubber and are often known as Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics. The primer increases the surface energy of the plastic surface thereby enabling a bond to take place.

These plastics include polyolefin, polypropylene, polyethylene and silicone rubber and are often known as Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics. Adtech® P1402 also acts as an accelerator with cyanoacrylate adhesives. Cure speeds of under 5 seconds are achieved with most grades.
Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are smooth, clean and free from dust or other deposits.
Adtech® P1402 should be applied to the area to be bonded by spraying, brushing, wiping or dipping. Wait for the solvent carrier to evaporate (normally 10 – 30 seconds). Apply the appropriate ADTECH® cyanoacrylate to the part to be bonded and assemble.
Adtech® P1402 should be applied to all bond surfaces that are made from difficult to bond plastics. For example if the bond is polypropylene to polypropylene, both surfaces should be primed, however if the bond is polypropylene to ABS, only the polypropylene surfaces needs to be primed.
Use with proper ventilation.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
If contact with skin occurs, rinse with warm water or dissolve gradually with appropriate debonder.
Do not try to remove forcibly.
If adhesive gets into eye, keep eye open and rinse thoroughly. Seek medical attention immediately.
Keep well out of reach of children.
Store Adtech® P1402 in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Keep lids tightly closed to avoid evaporation of the solvent carrier.
When stored in the original container at 21°C, Adtech® P1402 has a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture.
