Aro-Bond® 537 is a medium viscosity single component VAE co-polymer adhesive with good shear stability.
Aro-Bond® 537 is suitable for bonding papers, films and foils, and gives good adhesion on printed and varnished surfaces.
Aro-Bond® 537 can be used in applications such as film lamination on porous of printed substrates, and for use in paper and packaging applications.
Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are smooth, clean and free from dust or other deposits.
Aro-Bond® 537 should be applied evenly to one substrate, preferably to the less porous substrate, using a brush, hand roller or mechanical roller. Adhesive coverage between 250g per m2 are suitable depending on the porosity of the surfaces to be bonded. It should be noted that adhesive spread has considerable influence on both assembly and setting times.
Lay the items to be bonded together within the workable time and press them for as long a time as is needed to achieve the required handling strength. The pressure should be high enough to ensure contact of the parts over the entire area of the joint. Allow 24 hours for full strength to develop.
Aro-Bond® 537, like all other EVA adhesives, may tend to show structuring especially in cold conditions. This effect is generally reversible on slight stirring. Additionally, there may be some increase in viscosity, but this will not detract from the application properties or performance.
Clean machines, equipment and tools with water before the adhesive dries.
Aro-Bond® 537 should be stored in the original containers in a cool, dry place, at a temperature range of between 5°C and 30°C. In these conditions it has a storage life of 6 months. Aro-Bond® 537 must not be allowed to freeze and ideally should be warmed to at least 15°C before use.
