Gekko G47 provides a permanently tacky film of adhesive which prevents carpet tiles from moving when in place but still allows the tiles to be lifted up if required.

The unique portable, fully contained canister system allows you to stand up and apply the adhesive. This will reduce knee injury, reduce labour time and increase efficiency, resulting in increased profitability for the installer.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

• This product is designed to be applied to one side of the surfaces to be bonded together, Make sure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, loose paint, wax or grease, etc. For best results, the temperature of the adhesive and the surfaces being bonded should be between 60°F - 80°F (16°C - 27°C).
• Use with adequate ventilation. When possible we recommend shaking the canister well before using. Attach and secure hose tightly onto the spray gun with required tip. Attach the other end of the hose onto the canister. Make sure the hose-valve connections are securely tight. Open the valve on the canister slowly and fully, check for leaks during this process. Unlock the trigger on the spray gun to start spraying.
• Prior to use, check compatibility by spraying a small test patch of the adhesive on the substrate. This product may degrade some substrates.

1. Make sure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, loose paint, wax or grease, etc.x

2. Spray about 4” – 8” away at a 90 degree angle to the surface, applying a uniform, even coat of adhesive to obtain 80% to 100% coverage of the surface. If necessary, spray another coat of adhesive in areas that appear to need more adhesive.

3. Use as a single sided application allowing adhesive to dry for 30 seconds before bonding.

4. If the tip becomes blocked the adhesive can be removed with a solvent such as lacquer thinner or acetone. Do not use a pin on the spray tip.

HANDLING & STORAGE

• Consult Material Safety Data Sheet prior to use.
• DO NOT store at temperatures over 50°C.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
• DO NOT store directly on concrete floor.
• For optimum performance, store at 18°C during use, but must always be above 10°C.
• When connected, keep valve open and hose pressurised at all times.
• DO NOT close valve until ready to connect to new cylinder.
• Release pressure in hose before disconnection.
• Always test product to determine suitability for your particular application prior to use in production

Recomendations

The surfaces to be glued must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Existing floors must be free from all polish/wax. Prime/stabilise friable concrete/anhydrite and floors with residual adhesive with a suitable primer before application.

Subject to recommendations made by the flooring manufacturer, subfloors should be subject to 28 days of maturing and should have a maximum of 3% moisture content or 70% equilibrium relative humidity before using this adhesive. The room in which the floor is being installed should be in excess of 15°C and register an ambient humidity between 40% and 70% while the adhesive is being used. For moisture contents between 3.1% and 7%, or over 70% relative humidity, a suitable primer and moisture barrier should be used. Do not use this adhesive above these recommendations. Very porous or friable surfaces should first be primed with Gekko G91 Primer and allowed to dry. Under floor heating must be turned off 48 hours before and 48 hours after the adhesive has been applied. It is extremely important to monitor ambient conditions throughout installation, as any change in these conditions could cause issues such as condensation, which could directly impact the success of the bond even though the substrate reading may appear correct.

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Hold spray gun tip approx. 20 - 30cm from the surface to be covered and apply even coats. Do not allow it to concentrate or puddle in one area. Once adhesive has tacked off, generally within 1 - 3 minutes, carpet tiles can be laid.
