Product Overview
Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer is a one component solvent-free polyurethane primer coating which is used for suppressing rising damp and residual construction moisture in subfloors prior to bonding wood flooring down. It can also be used for preliminary treatment of sandy or powdery subfloors.
Using Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer allows for faster floor installation, but at the same time ensuring that no residual moisture can seep through to the wood flooring. Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer can be used with Woodstikk 19 and Woodstikk 20
5ltr jerrican
The surfaces to be glued must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. All contaminants including residual mortar, paints, and old floor coverings, must be removed prior the application. Before application the residual moisture content and subfloor absorption rate with a water droplet should be tested (See table on technical data sheet for recommendations). Residual moisture content should not be higher than 4CM%. Subfloor surface must be sufficiently porous to allow complete absorption of primer which reacts with water in subfloor.
Primer can be applied with a brush or roller
The first coat should be applied to strengthen powdery, not compact and porous subfloors.
Approximate drying time at 20°C and 50 - 65% RH is 45 to 90 minutes to maximum 12 hours.
The second coat of primer should be applied to wet cement subfloors so that the residual moisture content does not exceed 4CM%
Approximate drying time at 20°C and 50 - 65% RH is 12 hours.
The drying time is dependent on spread quantity, room ventilation, temperature, air humidity and surface porosity.
Do not apply primer at the temperatures lower than + 10°C.
Gluing with adhesives should be done immediately when film is dry by touch.
After using primer Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer, Woodstikk 19 or Woodstikk 20 can be used.
Renovating of old parquet floors without removing original parquet floor
Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer can be used to prepare old, very dry (over-dried), and cracked parquet. Subject to the subfloor being prepared as above, Woodstikk DPM Floor Primer can simply be poured on to the old floor, spread out over the surface and left to dry.
Keep the product sealed in its original container in a dry place at a temperature between +50C and +250C. The product is very sensitive to moisture so ensure the container is sealed after use. In these conditions it has a storage life of 12 months. Always close the container tightly after use and never pour back any unused product into the container
