A first choice' product for all waterproof and heat resistant bond requirements, Woodstikk PRF is a phenol resorcinol based adhesive system which is widely used in the Structural Timber Engineering sector for the manufacture of large laminated structures, external wood bonding applications requiring a high level of water resistance and for bonding difficult to bond wood species and modified wood, e.g. teak and Accoya.
Woodstikk PRF Structural Weatherproof adhesive system is suitable for use in the production of heat resistant composite structures, e.g. fire-resisting doors. It is resistant to acids, weak alkalis, solvents and boiling water.
Woodstikk PRF resin (part A) is mixed with Woodstikk PRF hardener (part B) and conforms to Adhesive Type I of the European standards for adhesives for load-bearing timber structures (EN301:2013). Woodstikk PRF will meet the requirement according to EN314 – Class 3 (WBP) for the production of plywood for non-covered exterior use.
WOODSTIKK PRF IS FROM THE PREFERE ADHESIVE RANGE.
Woodstikk PRF Adhesive System is simple to prepare. Both resin (part A) and hardener (part B) are liquids, and are mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight. It is essential that hardener (part B) is well stirred pouring from the container, as the filler can occasionally separate. Add the required amount of the hardener (part B) to the resin (part A) and mix thoroughly. The proportions should be measured by weight .
Consult Safety Data Sheet prior to use.
Woodstikk PRF Adhesive System should be stored firmly sealed in the original container in a cool (ideally 5 – 20°C) dry place. Shelf life under these conditions is at least 3 years for part A and at least 18 months for part B.
It is superb stuff, fantastic bond and so easy to clean and get rid of the surplus!

Hi,
Please could you tell me,
- what is the pot life once mixed
- what is the average drying time when just clamps are used
- is it classed as a structural glue, ie could it be used for making timber I joists
Bonita3 Months Ago
Hello Jonathan,
At the bottom of page two of the technical data sheet located under the downloads tab, there are 3 tables. The first one gives you the pot life time at different temperatures once the adhesive has been mixed. This is the working time you have. Tables 2 & 3 give the pressing times required at the different temperatures too.

Hi, do the Woodstikk PRF and MUF adhesives have to be cured with Radio frequency equipment, or can it be used by just applying allowing it to cure naturally ?
Bonita1 Years Ago
Thanks Ed. A radio frequency machine is not essential for curing. It can be left to cure naturally under clamps.
David Barnes1 Years Ago
have you got it in stock
Bonita1 Years Ago
Yes, the Woodstikk PRF adhesive is a stock product for us in all kit sizes.

Can we use the PFR with a wood welder (RF curing )
How long would it normally take for the wood welder to curer the glue
Bonita1 Years Ago
It can, however the adhesive does get quite lively and reacts more than a PVA adhesive would do.
Fixed timings are not given, and it would vary depending on the thickness and depth of glue line, so we would recommend you carry out a radio frequency trial on sample pieces of timber.

Hello, is ‘Woodstikk’ the same product as prefere 4050 and 5070?
Bonita1 Years Ago
The Prefere 4050 & Prefere 5750 is a 2 part Phenol Resorcinol Formaldehyde (PRF) adhesive, which is the same adhesive as Woodstikk PRF Adhesive Kit.
Woodstikk is one of our brands, and we have many different adhesives under this brand, for example PVAs, PU & PU Gels, UF Veneering adhesives to mention a few.

hi can you give me a rough idea how much time would be saved using a wood welder radio frequency machine in the drying times , as we have a lot of accoya laminations to glue together with your woodstikk prf adhesive . yours sincerely john williams
Bonita1 Years Ago
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Woodstikk PRF Adhesive can be used with a radio frequency curer, however the adhesive does get quite lively and reacts more than a PVA would do. Fixed timings for RF curing aren’t given as it would vary depending on the thickness and depth of the glue line. We would recommend that you carry out a radio frequency trial on some sample pieces of Accoya.
Joshua2 Years Ago
Is this a good choice for accoya?
I assume no foaming?
can it be applied by a brush?
Donovan2 Years Ago
Yes, this is also a product we would recommend for Accoya bonding. As you point out, one of the benefits over PU is that it doesn't foam.
Yes it can either be applied through a Pfohl roller or with a brush
